Musicians Corner
Service to local musicians through paid performances helping with the economic position. CBJC is committed to supporting the vibrant jazz community, particularly by providing economic stimulus to senior jazz musicians. Our initiative focuses on hiring local jazz musicians for our NoonTime Jazz Series and other activities and/or events. CBJC programs are designed to not only showcase talented performers but also to provide meaningful financial support to seasoned artists. Many senior musicians face challenges in securing paid performance opportunities as they age. Our series provides a regular venue for them to perform, allowing them to maintain visibility in the music scene and connect with both new and loyal jazz audiences. CBJC program schedule is specifically aimed at senior jazz musicians who have dedicated their lives to the craft. By hiring these artists, we acknowledge their invaluable contributions to the jazz genre and ensure they have a platform to share their talent and experience with audiences. By focusing on hiring local talent, we are not only supporting individual musicians but also stimulating the local economy. The funds allocated for performances circulate within the community, benefiting local businesses, venues, and the broader arts ecosystem. Through these efforts, CBJC is dedicated to creating a supportive ecosystem for senior jazz musicians, ensuring they continue to thrive artistically and economically. We believe that by investing in their talents, we enrich our community and preserve the legacy of jazz for future generations. Together, we can celebrate the artistry of our senior musicians while fostering a vibrant jazz culture that resonates with audiences everywhere.
